All Saints Catholic School in Sunrise, Florida, hosted a school "shout-out" and nonperishable food donation drive on April 2.
Families drove by and gave a shout-out to their teachers to say hello. In addition, the school ran a drive-thru food drive for St. VIncent de Paul food pantry.
"Last weekend, the food pantry experienced its largest volume of individuals seeking assistance. The pantry ran out of food after only an hour," All Saints said in a Facbook post. "The teachers and staff organized a drive-thru donation collection to help restock the shelves. Teachers and staff also took the opportunity to wave to their students and parents who came out to support those in need."
The community showed they were thankful for the school's efforts by commenting on the Facebook post.
"Thanks All Saints Catholic School for your kindness," one Facebook user said in response to the food drive.
All Saints thanked everyone who helped, including Police Chief Anthony Rosa and Lieutenant Louis Berman.
"This was a wonderful way for our All Saints Catholic School community to support and serve those in need while getting a much needed visit from our ASCS students," the school said on Facebook. "If you are interested in donating, the church accepts non perishable foods daily."
