The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops is inviting Catholics to attend Florida's 2022 Eucharistic Congress this weekend.

"The 2022 Florida Eucharistic Congress is this Friday, June 17, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gainesville, and Saturday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jacksonville," the conference said on Facebook. "And a special Theology on Tap will be Saturday evening after the Eucharistic Congress from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with Joe Melendrez at Legacy Ale Works (14965 Old St. Augustine Road) in Jacksonville."

In addition to Melendrez, featured speakers will include Archbishop Nelson Perez of Philadelphia; Curtis Martin, the founder of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students; and Marilyn Santos, associate director of the secretariat of evangelization and catechesis at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Diocese of St. Augustine said in a release.

Aside from the speakers, the event will feature music, mass, a lunch break and a Eucharistic procession, the diocese said on its site.

"I'm looking forward to celebrating the beauty of the Eucharist at the upcoming Florida Eucharistic Congress in June," Perez said in a YouTube video. "Through the Eucharist, we encounter Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. The Eucharist offers us his healing and peace, his mercy and reconciliation. It nourishes us spiritually and is a tangible reminder that he is always present in our lives."
