Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops
The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops is hosting its Catholic Days from Feb. 1-2, at the State Capital in Tallahassee. Participants will be able to attend meetings with state leaders, and practice their faith.
The deadline to register for the event is Monday, Jan. 10 — it costs $80 for legislative briefing, breakfast and program, and box lunch, or $65 for just the briefing, and breakfast and program ).
“Each year, Catholics from across the state gather in Tallahassee to participate in Catholic Days at the Capitol,” the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee wrote on Facebook. “This two-day event provides an opportunity for the faithful to put a call to political responsibility into action and to strengthen the presence of Catholic values in the public square. By joining together to advocate for laws that protect and defend human life and dignity, Catholic Floridians can give a voice to some of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations in our state and help promote the common good for all Florida residents.”
Catholic Days at the Capitol is hosted by the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops, which is a nonpartisan group of bishops that serves as a liaison on public policy between the Church and the state government.
Last year’s event was held virtually. The legislative topics discussed included abortion regulation, the death penalty, medical ethics, and expanding school choice.
