The Diocese of Orlando is inviting women from the parishes to register for the Go Beyond retreat on Nov. 6, which will be hosted at Altamonte Springs’ St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

The theme this year is inspired by St. Joan of Arc and Esther, both Christian female ideals.

“Sister Josephine Garrett, CSFN invites YOU to Go Beyond! Women from across the diocese are invited to faith and fellowship at this year’s Go Beyond conference themed 'Born for This.' St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs will host the event November 6th in three languages, English, Spanish, and Portuguese,” the Diocese of Orlando posted on Facebook.

Joan of Arc was a 15th century woman who traveled with the French army and helped to contribute to victories against the English, according to Catholic.org.

Esther was a young Jewish woman who was taken as a concubine of the king, eventually winning his favor and having the ability to advocate for her people who were at risk of persecution and devastation in the kingdom at the time, according to JWA.org.

There are three books named after women in the Bible, one of which is Esther, the others are Ruth and Judith.
