Naumann, in a September 2021 newsletter about Walking with Moms in Need, said Catholics advocate supporting mothers and children with love and practical support in response to difficult pregnancies.
“Our national outreach, Walking with Moms in Need, helps parishes to identify and help provide the full range of needs for mothers and their unborn children, not only during pregnancy but for years to come,” Naumann said in the statement. “We stand with Pope Francis, who reminds us that killing a child is never a solution to a problem.”
The U.S. bishops launched Walking with Moms in Need in March 2020. The National Congreso Pro Vida will include the giving of awards for the nationwide initiative at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
“We are excited to participate in this culminating event of the Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service, an initiative from the USCCB," the Archdiocese of Miami Respect Life Ministry’s Facebook page said. "As part of the Congreso, we will be featuring awards for outstanding Walking with Moms teams who went above and beyond in demonstrating their support for mothers in their parish and community.”
