St. Pius X Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale recently reminded parishioners that a part of their obligation to bring God’s light into the world is in how they respond to the world with their vote.
“Every proposal, policy or political platform should be measured by how it touches the human person; whether it enhances or diminishes human life, human dignity, and human rights; and how it advances the common good,” a note published in the church's Oct. 18 bulletin said.
Every action, every form of participation, every breath that the faithful take should be an act reaffirming their faith in God and in Jesus Christ.
“As Christian citizens, it is a sacred trust as we are told by Paul in Colossians 3:17: ‘And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him,’” the message stated.
