St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Seminole will celebrate the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time with Scripture at a service scheduled for Sunday.
‘’In Scripture, images of abundance and feasting point to God’s grace. In today’s gospel, the wedding feast parable points to the grace made present to us through the sacraments,’’ the Oct. 11 church bulletin stated. "We already get God’s grace, given to us in the Sacraments, as a small taste of our eternal banquet in Heaven. In the abundant feast of the Eucharist, God provides the food that strengthens life in us. In Baptism, God provides the garment, clothing us in holiness."
‘’The Holy Spirit empowers us to accept the invitation to the Lord’s feast," the bulletin said. "Beneath the sacramental signs, God’s love also gives us the opportunity to experience the essence needed to get to Heaven. We must believe that God will meet our every need. We should trust in the Lord and prepare to meet him at his banquet in harmony and peace."
