The Very Rev. Ed Waters recently reflected on the great work that God put into the creation of women; noting that if women have one flaw, it is that “they forget their worth.”

In a special "Under the Bridge" message entitled “The One Flaw in Women,” Waters took the time to imagine the creation of women by God, noting the sacrifices and strengths shown as mothers and wives and individuals.

“Women have strengths that amaze men,” Waters said in the message, published in the Sept. 27 bulletin of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Lady Lake. “They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.”

Whether in the roles they play in their personal families, in their church families or in society as a whole, Waters praised the ways that women “fight for what they believe in” and stand against injustice.

When in Waters’ narrative of the creation of womankind, an angel— amazed at all the potential packed into a single being, from nurturing to stamina— asks God, "Will she be able to think?" the Lord replies, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate."

And this quality common to women Waters came back to again, describing the ways that women consider not only their own needs or the needs of their own, but also bring to discussion and discourse the desire to see all people prosper.

Waters exalted in the feminine and the balance women bring to society.

“They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards,” he said. “They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.”
