Saint Mary Catholic Church in Ft. Walton Beach believes there is still a lot of work to do when it comes to "building God's kingdom."
In the church's Sept. 20 bulletin, the “Cornerstone: Ecclesia” message reflected on the story Jesus told about the landowner who continued to hire laborers throughout the day, bringing more workers on board.
"This is an image of the church," the message stated. "It is to be a growing movement."
God wants us, as followers of Christ, to bring more people to the Church. Parishioners were encouraged to go "deeper," and to take a look at the importance of introducing more people to Catholicism and welcoming them to the faith.
Since the Church is a "growing movement," it needs to expand beyond the walls of the parish, the message said. Parishioners were invited to think about what their "idea" of church is and talk about it with family and friends.
