Florida’s Catholic population is not in favor of reparations and does not take responsibility for slavery according to the results of a Florida American Catholic Tribune poll.
Of 553 respondents, 90.8 percent, or 502, said they do not favor reparations in response to the question, "Would you support a Democrat proposal that would deduct money from the paychecks of White, Hispanic and Asian Florida residents to fund so-called "reparations" payments to Black Americans?"
Of Florida Catholics polled by ACMC, 92.4 percent, or 511 respondents, said they do not take “personal responsibility” for slavery in response to the question "Do you believe you hold any personal responsibility for the existence of slavery in the United States before 1862?"
The poll ran on Facebook Sept. 10-16 where it was promoted to Catholics in residing in Florida.
Democrat vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris supported reparations when she was a presidential candidate.
Black Lives Matter has also made the issue a central part of their platform.
California has begun crafting reparations legislation, which some believe would provide the framework for federal reparations.
Just last week Asheville, North Carolina became one of the first municipalities to address reparations. This move is expected to be repeated in far left enclaves across the country.
Universities and other institutions are also considering reparations.
Black Lives Matter Chicago and BLM activists more broadly support looting as a form of reparations and the larger organization nationwide has not denounced rioting that has rocked the nation.
Critical race theory, deemed by some as "anti-white 101" purports to examine such issues as "white privilege." The area of study has proven to be very controversial with one commentator noting it appears to be designed to make "white people feel guilty about something for which they have no personal responsibility."
A previous American Catholic Tribune poll revealed swing state Catholic populations to be starkly in disagreement with Black Lives Matters principles.
BLM, founded by Marxists, has been behind violent protests in Miami, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale.
