The Rev. Biju Vells of St. Pixus X Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale has issued an update “From the Pastor’s Desk,” letting parishioners know they’ve reached the parish goal in pledges.

The goal was $64,132 and the total pledges received were $65,755, Fr. Vells' note published in the church's Aug. 23 bulletin said. The actual amount received is $57,555. He asked parishioners to continue mailing the pledged amounts directly because only 89% of the goal had been received so far.

“It is important that our parish receive the offertory support needed to remain operational and sustainable during this challenging times," Vells said. "I understand that many of you may not be able to contribute given the economic impact this pandemic is having on your personal finances; however, I hope that those who are able to continue to support our parish will do so.”

Vells ended by thanking the parishioners for the support and efforts during the trying times.
