"Life is unpredictable," the Rev. Stephen Ogonwa, who goes by Father Seno, of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Candler, Florida, said in the weekly Pastor's Corner. But that does not imply there's nothing to hold onto for certainty.
"We cannot depend on human things, we can be happy one day and sad the next, healthy one day and sick the next, successful one day and a failure the next," Seno said in the Pastor's Corner. "So what is there to hold on to? Who can we trust at all times? My dear friends, Only God can be trusted at all times."
God is the only being able to give humans a constant trust and love that isn't unpredictable and will never change.
No matter what a person does each day, which can vary day-to-day, one thing remains the same: at the end of the day, a person returns home to God.
"Life is a journey, like going abroad to come back, or going to Walmart or CVS to shop and come back home," Seno said further. "We all must go back home to the Father, but the day and time is not known to us, but to God alone. ... If you want to be safe and in good health, try to be a person of prayer and at peace with one another. Live as if today is your last day on earth. Be charitable to God and neighbor."
