Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Palm Bay announced an important new development in parish operations in its July 19 weekly bulletin.
Rev. Vilaire Philius wrote that he will be taking the role of parochial administrator beginning on Aug. 1.
“This appointment does come with great responsibilities,” Philius wrote. “In addition to serving our current parishioners, I will also minister to the St. Joseph Haitian Community, which will be integrated into Our Lady of Grace Parish effective Aug. 1.”

The church was previously served by a pastor and parochial vicar. On Aug. 1, Philius will be serving as the only priest of the church.
“I will continue on a daily basis to visit hospitals, nursing homes and those who are homebound as well as offering counseling services, officiating at weddings and funerals, and the leadership of all parish operations,” Philius wrote.
Philius wrote that he has a number of responsibilities to attend to and that there will be some schedule changes for the parish beginning on Aug. 1, all of which are featured in the bulletin. He also said that he is looking forward to serving the parish as he takes on the new role of parochial administrator.
“With God and prayer, we will unite, persevere and triumph,” Philius wrote. “I look forward to meeting each of you and cannot wait to serve you every day.”
