A charitable donor will donate up to $3,750 toward equipment to livestream Masses if parishioners at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Temple Terrace, Florida, will match his contributions.

The church will continued to offer online broadcasts of Mass even after the COVID-19 pandemic wanes, the Rev. Mike Smith told parishioners, the church bulletin reported.

"As we have had more experience, we are realizing that even after the pandemic is over, we would still like to livestream our Masses to reach those who, for some reason, still cannot physically join us for Mass," Smith said in the bulletin.

Corpus Christi began its livestreams using a cellphone for daily mass and Morning Show equipment borrowed from the Corpus Christi Catholic School. Now the church has ordered a high-quality ceiling mounted camera to improve the quality of the livestreams, Smith said, the bulletin reported.

One donor has offered to match the donations of others up to $3,750, the bulletin reported.

Smith also discussed how well the resumption of regular Masses has gone.

“Everyone has been very patient and cooperative with our ‘new normal’ of wearing masks, keeping our hands clean and maintaining distance between those who do not live in our same household,” he said, the bulletin reported.
