In his Message from the Pastor in the July 12 weekly bulletin, the Rev. José Luis Menéndez of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Miami wrote that the Parable of the Sower explains how we can better understand and follow God’s will in our lives.

“Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of God making comparisons that simple people easily understand, but there are others who fail to understand its meaning,” Menendez wrote. “The message of Salvation is a ‘good,’ valuable seed, but it cannot bear fruit if the land it falls on is not good too.”

Only the seeds that fall on the good soil will be allowed to bear fruit, which is another way of explaining the adherence to God’s will.

“Let us ask the Lord for the grace to be a good land, that we be His word and bear abundant fruit at the service of the Kingdom of God,” Menendez wrote.

Menendez closed by reminding parishioners that as COVID-19 cases rise, the entire Body of Christ must do its part to protect by being careful with sanitization measures.
