Mother of Christ Catholic Church in Miami offered some thoughts to use for meditation on the Feast of Corpus Christi in a recent bulletin.
Rev. Father Jorge Arturo Carvajal-Niño is the church's parochial administrator.
The followers of Christ are called the Body of Christ, says the bulletin, and through the Eucharist, Christ becomes present in us. The very presence of God touches the depths of the human soul and we belong to God.
It is within our grasp to put into practice the Beatitudes that Christ has given us, the bulletin reads. We are called to be like Christ and work to create a world where all of God’s children can find a home and a place at the table of life. God is with us.
We have been nourished, so why are so many afraid to try? As long as want, injustice, division, prejudice and scarcity still exist, says the bulletin. There is tremendous work for the Body of Christ. We are called on to live a life that transforms, and we can now become agents of change for others.
There is so much power for healing in our community of believers.
