Although COVID-19 forced cancellation of all Rachel's Vineyard Retreat weekends for individuals suffering from post-abortion trauma, the ministry's founder said they don't have to wait to start healing.
Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee tries to help families heal after abortion. The Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat weekend it planned for mid-May was to provide a safe place for healing for individuals suffering from post-abortion trauma.
Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats are offered all over the world. Good Shepherd sponsors the confidential, non-judgmental weekend for families and extended families of aborted children. Persons who have been involved in the abortion industry are also invited “to face and heal from abortion wounds.”
Plans were put on hold, but the founder of Rachel's Retreat Ministries, Theresa Burke, offered some support.
"You don’t have to wait until a weekend retreat to begin your healing journey. You can email or call any of our retreat sites listed on our website and they will be happy to write/speak with you to offer encouragement, support and love," Burke said in her letter announcing the retreat cancellations.
