Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School has done it again, taking top coaching and player honors in Class 5A soccer.
Soccer coach Mike Sica won the Class 5A Coach of the Year honors. Senior Jordyn Pitter earned 5A Player of the year honors in the Florida Dairy Farmers High School Sports Awards program.
Pitter's demonstrated excellence in soccer earned her a scholarship to play at University of Central Florida in the fall. Jordyn scored 17 goals and notched 11 assists. The Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel named her a first team, all county player for two years in a row.

Sica led the Lady Mavericks to the program’s first state title, following back-to-back trips to the Florida Final Four. He has a 202-39-21 record after 10 years as a coach at the Catholic High School. This is Sica’s second consecutive Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year award. He was the Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald Coach of the Year for the past two seasons.
The Florida Dairy Farmers High School Sports Awards Program claims to be the most unique and longest-running sports awards program in the country.
