ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH: Message from the Pastor

People

Press release submission Mar 27, 2020

Pastor

St Ambrose Catholic Church issued the following announcement on March 23.

Just a few short weeks ago we rejoiced with our families and friends at Christmas and welcomed in a new decade. Who could have imagined that in our lifetimes we would find ourselves in such fearful and trying times? The very foundation of our lives has been shaken and overturned.  We are anxious for the wellbeing of our family, friends, and even ourselves. Our Faith is now being tested like never before. And at the very time when we need our faith and need to Communion with God, our Churches have been closed. We aren’t able to lean on the loving support that our family of faith could provide us. But “We will not DISPAIR”!

We will not allow fear to overcome us!  We will put our unwavering trust in our loving Father who gave us life and in His loving Son Jesus who saved us and brought His resurrection to our lives also. For almost all of us, our Catholic Faith has carried us through the good and bad and most difficult times of our lives. And this happened because Jesus was standing right next to us holding our hands, guiding us and being our Protector. He has never left us and is not about to abandon us now. Remember His words,” I am with you always” and “Be not afraid”. So do not loose heart. We will all get through this because we have a Messiah who has conquered all and will not be defeated by a pandemic.

Now, I want you to know that even though our Church is closed for now, myself and Fr. James are here for you also. We will continue to offer mass daily even though you are not allowed to attend at this time. We will offer up your special intentions, as well as the intentions for safety and well-being of our Parish Family. You may still request personal mass intentions by calling the Rectory Office or mailing in your requests. Even though we have been instructed to limit personal contact, we are always available to you by phone and person to person contact on a limited basis We will still be able to conduct funerals and weddings, but they must be limited to a small number of family members only. Just contact the Rectory Office.

We are now setting up the ability to livestream Masses from St. Ambrose on a daily basis beginning next week. You will be able to celebrate mass with us anytime you wish every day on your computer, iPad, or phone. Even though you cannot attend mass in person, you can certainly pray in the confines of your own homes, daily and often. What better time to grow closer to our God through prayer than now? We will keep in touch with you with all the important information you need to know through our website. (stambrosedeerfieldbeach.com) Each week you will be able to read the Bulletin through this site as well as access other information, so you won’t miss out on anything. Our Rectory office will remain open 7 days a week. We ask that you refrain from coming in person unless absolutely necessary, but we’re here if you need us. Instead, contact us by phone or email.

Finally, it is of the utmost importance that you obey and support all of the directives given to us by the medical people and leaders of our Nation. We are all in this together and need to be responsible for the well being of each other. With God watching over us and with His love and protection we will triumph over this difficult time. ”Remember, with God, all things are possible”
